Boiler Room / Tunnel Access in Buildings

All boiler rooms of all buildings connect to the tunnels unless otherwise     stated.  All doors leading directly to boiler rooms from outside are usually locked.

    Other Tunnel Access

Grate near Art Annex.  The semicircular grate on the hill next to the stairs leading down to the Art Annex and the Boiler House has access to the tunnels, after a short crawl and six-foot drop.

Circular Grates.  Any of the heavy circular grates found around campus lead to the tunnels, but are anywhere from six to twelve feet above the tunnel floor.  These grates may not be removable and are most likely heavy.  Most are also in plain view of passersby and dormitories.

Electrical Manholes.  There are two circular electrical manholes near the sidewalk in front of Reed / Curie which have ladders that lead down to the tunnels.  These manhole covers may not be removable.

Square Manhole.  There is a square manhole between Dalton and Floyd near Heth that has access to the tunnels.  This manhole cover may not be removable.

Grate near Fairfax.  There is a rectangular grate near the Ingles side of Fairfax that leads to the tunnels which is probably lighter than the aforementioned circular grates, yet also in plain view.
